Gingerbread Cookie Protein Smoothie

Gingerbread Cookie Protein Smoothie

We’ve got some Christmas inspiration for our recipe today — gingerbread is one of our all-time favorite flavors and translates well into a smoothie. This recipe has no banana for you folks looking for non-banana smoothie ideas!

Our protein-packed shake feels like a seriously hefty meal in a glass. The secret to its thick consistency is in the sweet potato puree and it’s loaded with beta-carotene which is excellent for your skin.

The addition of our collagen peptide powder takes this protein smoothie to another level as it helps to increase the production of collagen in your skin — keeping it plump and irons out fine lines and wrinkles.

Recipe:

  • 1 cup sweet potato puree
  • 1½ cup unsweetened almond milk
  • ½ apple, chopped and preferably frozen
  • 1 tablespoon of flax seed meal
  • 1-2 tablespoons of protein powder
  • 1 tablespoon of oat flour
  • ½ teaspoon of ginger powder or ½ inch knob of fresh ginger
  • ¼ teaspoon of cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon of vanilla oil
  • 1 teaspoon of brown rice syrup (optional)
  • 1 scoop of Sparkle Skin Boost with Verisol

If you don’t have oat flour, just whizz regular rolled oats in your blender to make them into a powder. Then add all the other ingredients and blend till smooth. To make sweet potato puree, skin and chop it into small pieces and boil in some water (80% covered in water) till soft — mash with a potato masher and you get sweet potato puree.
