Immune Boosting Smoothie
It’s the height of flu season and we’re all desperate not to fall sick because there is so much to do, especially in the new year.
The best thing you can do for a healthy immune system is to eat a diet rich in nourishing nutrients to fight getting sick, alongside exercising regularly and maintaining good hygiene habits.
Not enough time to eat a salad or two a day? We’ve got an immune-boosting smoothie recipe that is crazy delicious and nutrient dense.
It’s a recipe that’s more involved (but we say, good things don’t come easy — here are some great smoothie hacks!) but so worth it. This immune boosting beverage supports your natural defense against winter coughs and sniffles. It’s full of vitamin C, antioxidants, omega fatty acids, and anti-inflammatory properties.
Recipe:
- 1 cup of frozen strawberries
- ½ frozen banana
- 1 kiwi
- ½ orange
- ½ cucumber
- Juice of ½ lemon
- 1-inch knob ginger
- 1 tablespoon of coconut oil
- 1 tablespoon of chia seeds
- 1 tablespoon of flax seeds
- Handful of baby spinach
- Pinch of turmeric
- Pinch of cayenne
- 1 scoop of Sparkle Skin Boost with Verisol
Our collagen peptide powder contains a good dose of vitamin C as well so that’s an added bonus of immune-boosting power.
Remember the key to keeping yourself healthy during flu season is to be consistent in making the extra effort nutritionally.
