Spring Detox Smoothie

Spring-cleaning our home might be just one of many things on our mind at this time of year, yet it’s a great reminder to spring-clean our body too by eating lighter and better.

We have a healthy green smoothie that is full of naturally detoxifying fruit and veggies to flush out all that winter over-indulgence and energize us in the morning.

While getting your system moving, this smoothie has a scoop of Sparkle Skin Boost to give your skin a radiant boost. Instead of nut milk or water, we thought a cup of chilled green tea would be great to help with cell damage with all those catechins more powerful than vitamin C and E.

Cilantro may be a love-it-or-hate-it leafy herb so try to start with small amounts and combine with sweet tropical fruit like pineapple to help disguise it. Cilantro is full of, flavonoids and phytonutrients, plus it helps your body get rid of heavy metals by binding to them.

We love adding some lemon juice to our daily smoothie because it is packed with vitamin C, alkalinizing, and helps with digestion — always a great idea to have first thing in the morning.

 

Recipe:

  • 1 cup green tea, chilled
  • ½ avocado
  • 1cup frozen pineapple
  • 1-inch knob of ginger
  • Juice of half a lemon
  • ½ medium-sized cucumber, chopped
  • 1 cup cilantro
  • 1 cup baby spinach
  • 1 scoop of Sparkle Skin Boost with Verisol®

 

Put everything into a high-speed blender and blend till smooth.
