Dancer Meagan Kong Shares Her Summer Self-Care Tips

A fter more than 10 years as a professional dancer — gracing the stage with stars like Jennifer Lopez and appearing in TV shows such as Crazy Ex Girlfriend — dancer, choreographer, and fitness enthusiast Meagan Kong began to share her passion for fitness and holistic health online. 

In 2018, she created Kong Fit Club, which hosted more than 90 free workout events in Los Angeles. Now, Kong Fit Club has a brick-and-mortar clubhouse in Hollywood, where Meagan leads group fitness and dance classes — empowering and uplifting others through movement. What we love about Meagan is she steps up for her community every day, making healthy living a fun and inspiring experience.

We sat down to chat with Meagan about her self-care routine for her wedding and she shares some tips on how to have a more vibrant, healthy summer ahead. 

Sparkling for her wedding

Take it outside

Eat in season

Choose the ripe stuff. Fresh, in-season fruits and veggies that ripen naturally and are eaten shortly after harvesting are rich in vitamins and antioxidants. In-season picks for summer include watermelon, berries, cherries, mangoes, summer squash, corn, tomatoes, and zucchini. “I love to make watermelon salad and roasted corn salsa for my BBQ sides,” Meagan recommends.

Be prepared for anything

“Have a bag with sunscreen, bug spray, and a beach chair in the car at all times so you are ready for impromptu outdoor fun,” Meagan offers. Stay hydrated
