In this blog, we'll explore how PMOS affects different parts of the body, from metabolism and body composition to skin, hair, recovery and joint health, and where evidence-based nutritional support may complement an already healthy lifestyle.
Every woman experiences PMOS differently. Some are primarily concerned about weight management, while others struggle with acne, scalp hair thinning, fatigue or maintaining muscle despite regular exercise [1]. Understanding why these symptoms occur can help you make informed decisions about nutrition, movement and supplements that fit your individual goals.
Healthy Glucose Metabolism and Metabolic Health
Insulin resistance is one of the most common metabolic features of PMOS. Does PMOS cause hair thinning?
It can. Higher androgen levels associated with PMOS may contribute to scalp hair thinning in some women. However, hair loss can have many causes, including iron deficiency, thyroid disorders, nutritional deficiencies and stress. If hair thinning is persistent or worsening, speak with your healthcare provider for an appropriate assessment.
Can collagen help with PMOS?
Collagen does not treat PMOS or influence hormone levels.
